How can teachers of middle and high school ELA put intersectional social justice at the heart of their practice? This one-day program will showcase the innovative ways that schools and districts are re-imagining ELA curriculum to center marginalized identities – Black, Indigenous and people of color, LGBTQ, disabled, undocumented and others. The program will be collaborative, with opportunities for peer learning and discussion. Input from scholars and authors will sharpen our thinking. Classroom teachers, librarians, literacy specialists, and curriculum leaders are welcome. Come encounter new texts and strategies – and share those you love to teach!
