The cosmopolitan and multicultural cities of the Indian Ocean were sites of creativity and exchange in the medieval and early modern worlds.  Learn about the places and the people—merchants, scholars and religious travelers, sailors, pirates and enslaved people—of this fascinating and interconnected region using digital maps, material culture and other resources that can help enliven your world history curriculum.
