For all grades K-12

Across generations, how do the stories told within families help to uphold identity, sustain culture, or heal wounds? How do the secrets of families get passed over time; what are the harms they can do, and what happens when those secrets are revealed? Join us on a journey through multicultural texts that feature intergenerational family ties sustained through stories or secrets. This book group, with a combination of online and virtual meetings, is open to any educator in grades K-12 (space permitting). Our sessions are informal and collaborative. Resources and supporting materials will be offered for each session.

Book Selections: Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo; When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller; Guapa by Saleem Haddad; The Vanishing Half by Britt Bennet
