From Bridgerton to Wicked, retellings of classic myths and storylines are immensely popular with both adult and young adult readers. Often, these retellings bring diverse perspectives that differ from the original, and offer new and contemporary insights. Join our self-directed reading adventure this summer to experience fresh multicultural takes on old favourites. These retellings can open doors for students to discover the classic first tellings. Each session features author interviews, guiding questions and extension materials that will enable participants to make powerful connections with their classes. You’ll post your reflections and learn what other teachers have to say. Familiarity with the original title is not necessary.
