This fully online book group will read four rich texts that speak to the variety of Native American literature in the 20th and 21st centuries. Contemporary authors and multiple genres in this series include fiction, non-fiction, graphic, and young adult literature. Participants will reflect on the ways these works enrich and complicate readers’ understanding of Native American perspectives, especially narratives that defy a ‘single story’ of that experience. Resources and
supporting materials will be offered for each text; and a guest-facilitator of Native American identity will join for one of the sessions. All sessions will be held virtually–primarily on Tuesdays (with one Monday) afternoon date.
