HistoryThon: Amplifying African American History Together

You can join us!

  • Register as a team leader, an individual, or join a team by clicking the Register button. Registration is $25/person; there is no minimum fundraising* requirement
    (Free registration for teachers in Primary Source Partner Districts with promo code Partner23 and all participants age 21 and under with promo code Youth23)
  • Participate anytime between Saturday, October 1 – Friday, November 10
  • Explore walks, trails, and sites (provided after registration) and learn about their importance to the African American experience and/or attend any of our free HistoryThon events
  • Join an active community on the search for knowledge!

You can make a difference!

  • Be part of the movement to expand much-needed awareness about African American history by independently exploring sites of historic importance or by participating in Primary Source organized events
  • HistoryThon raises funds* to support Primary Source in developing and updating African American history programming and resources, including the Making Freedom Digital Curriculum project

HistoryThon is an exploration of African American history to increase our collective knowledge and understanding while supporting Primary Source’s programs on teaching U.S. history accurately and inclusively.

This initiative includes signature in-person events as well as optional independent outings geared to colleagues and communities, families and friends, students and teachers. 

Explore walks, trails, and sites (Digital Welcome Packet provided upon registration) and learn about their importance to the African American experience and/or attend any of our free HistoryThon in-person events.
